Case Study: VASOS 2014

Virginia Save Our Streams (VA SOS) is a part of the larger non-profit Izaak Walton League. Their original site was based on a Joomla framework that current employees weren’t sure how to edit (and that hadn’t had a security update since 2010). The original site was not mobile-friendly, and had quite a few broken links.

I suggested using WordPress as a more user-friendly content management system.

Final Build:

  • WordPress CMS
  • Responsive design
  • Community Events Calendar
  • Custom Theme CSS (modified Primo Pro)
  • Yoast SEO to increase discoverability
  • W3 Total Cache to increase page speed
  • Front page Slider and content boxes that resize for mobile
  • Content and photo editing
  • Google Webmaster & Analytics
  • Documentation and training

[Keep in mind that once my work is done, web sites may be altered significantly as the needs of the organization changes, and as web technology improves.]
